Apple Maps includes a feature called Look Around — a ground-level view of streets similar to Google Street View. Coverage is available in many major cities and expanding. If your home has been photographed, the image may show your front door, vehicles, address numbers, and yard.
Apple allows you to request a blur of your home through its reporting tool. The process is free and available on the web and in the Maps app.
Step 1 — Find your home in Look Around
On the web: Go to maps.apple.com and search your home address. If Look Around coverage exists for your street, a binoculars icon will appear in the upper-right corner of the map. Click it to enter Look Around.
In the app (iPhone/iPad/Mac): Search your address in Apple Maps. If a Look Around preview thumbnail appears at the bottom of the screen, tap it to open the full viewer.
Step 2 — Navigate to your property
Use the arrows or click/drag to move along the street until your home is clearly visible in the frame.
Step 3 — Open "Report an Issue"
In the Look Around viewer, look for the "Report an Issue" link — on the web it appears in the lower-left corner of the viewer window. Click or tap it.
Step 4 — Select the blur option
Apple's reporting form will ask you to categorize the issue. Select the option related to blurring or privacy — typically listed as "Blur my home" or "Object or person I want blurred."
Step 5 — Submit the request
Follow the prompts to complete and submit the form. Apple will review the request. Processing times vary — allow a few weeks before checking back.
Step 6 — Confirm the blur
Return to Look Around at your address after a few weeks to verify the blur has been applied. If the image hasn't updated in your browser, try a hard refresh or clear your cache.
Already did Google Maps?
If you completed the Google Maps blur guide from Week 4, this is the same action for Apple's platform. The two systems are independent — a blur on one does not carry over to the other.
